COFFEE CONVERSATION

How to Heal a Broken Heart

Reading the title, you might be wondering what coffee has to do with getting over an ex. "Bunnati, you're off the rails with this one." Sip your coffee and be patient as you read on.

First, let me say I've been there—dealing with a toxic ex who sucked the joy out of my life. She always rained on my parade to the point where I couldn't even share good news.

Toxicity comes in many forms, and that's what I experienced. The home was no longer happy. Coffee, particularly the coffee lifestyle, helped me through it.

Before my passion for coffee, I over drank the hard stuff. While it served a purpose, the ensuing hangxiety always led me back to my ex.

Hangovers and anxiety contribute to worsening a feeling of loneliness. It was a nasty cycle. Thankfully, coffee set me free, and here's how.

First, alcohol and coffee share an important effect—dopamine.

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that makes us feel good. During tough times like breakups, it's vital we feel good. The benefit of coffee, unlike booze, is no hangovers, anxiety or regret afterwards.

But coffee also offers more—it gives us clarity. We need to be grounded and see things and people for who they are. Coffee helps us avoid fooling ourselves and helps us accept reality.

As Maya Angelou once said, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." The clarity from coffee helps us accept this truth.

So, coffee makes us feel good (dopamine) and helps us see people and situations for who and what they are (clarity).

How can we use coffee to heal and get over an ex?

Drink coffee every day, and if possible, several times a day. Structure your day around coffee. Have "me time" while enjoying coffee.

During this time, take walks and enjoy nature, immerse yourself in an interesting book and most of all savor the cup of coffee you’re drinking. You can also explore different types of coffee or coffee beans.

If possible, also go to the gym and tone up your body. This coffee-centered lifestyle, if committed to consistently, will undoubtedly make you feel better.

The goal is to move on, and to live your life without the person that hurt you or is affecting your life in a negative way.

I've been there, done it, and still doing it. It works. Do this for two months straight and get back to me with a simple "thanks."

With much love, take care of your ❤️

THE FRAPPUCCINO STORY

Quest to Make The Perfect Frappuccino

Life throws many challenges our way, but making the perfect Frappuccino? That’s my challenge. My first hurdle came with the power outages in Ecuador during April. Freezing ice was impossible, and on the coast where I live, keeping it frozen was impossible.

Even the Igloo cooler didn’t help.

Anyhow, just as the power crisis improved, my recipe partner and I had a fallout, and they took the recipe with them. Starting from scratch, I realized I was missing a key ingredient—xanthan gum. In Ecuador, finding such things is like searching for a unicorn.

But with determination, I finally got my hands on some. Ready to film my Frappuccino video, I discovered dust specks on my camera sensor.

Just my luck!

The good news is that a kind barista from a local café is helping me. So, I have a Frappuccino recipe and with her advice, I hope to film the video soon.

Stay tuned—this saga is not over!

COFFEE NEWS

Finance: The annual inflation rate of coffee in the EU is declining and on average it is almost at 0% and pre-2021 levels.

So, the question is — why is this not transpiring in the United States? Why does the price of coffee continue to increase? These are good questions and there’s probably a lot of greed somewhere in there because the EU is in many ways much more expensive than the US. Yeah, we have to make coffee shops accountable for the ridiculous prices they are charging. And don’t fall for the nonsense of speciality coffee $ trickling down. I live in a coffee producing country and coffee farmers/pickers are poorer than ever.

Source of coffee inflation: Euro News Business. The rest is my opinion on the rise and inflation of consumer coffee prices.

Health: Cinnamon is good for your gut health. Adding cinnamon to your coffee offers several benefits. According to Dr. Bulziewicz, coffee is a major source of antioxidants in the American diet due to its high polyphenol content, which helps combat inflammation, chronic disease, and cancer. Cinnamon, also rich in polyphenols, boosts these benefits. Moreover, regular consumption of coffee with cinnamon supports gut health by consistently contributing to a healthy microbiome, complementing other fiber-rich foods in your diet.
