COFFEE CONVERSATION
If you enjoy black coffee or espresso, brace yourself, I have some unsettling news to share. Research suggests that your preference aligns with individuals exhibiting dark personality traits such as psychopathy, narcissism, and sadism. Two studies, by C. Sagioglou and T. Greitemeyer, which questioned 953 Americans have found that individuals with these tendencies tend to favor bitter tastes.
Black Coffee
With this in mind, I think it's in our best interest to steer clear of Italy. After all, Italians love their espresso, and many espressos are quite bitter, at least the poorly pulled shots or the dark roast variety which Italians love.
Half-joking aside, it’s interesting that individuals with dark-triad tendencies have a preference for bitter drinks. But clearly, it's just that: interesting, because there are honest coffee drinkers who enjoy their black coffee and espresso.
In one survey conducted by Dr. Durvasula, it was found that individuals who prefer black coffee tend to be straightforward and enjoy a simple life. However, they may also exhibit impatience and be abrupt. Does that sound like you?
What about milk-based coffee?
Latte
Well, Latte drinkers tend to be people pleasers and are more laid-back and sociable. They enjoy the creamy texture and milder taste of a latte, and they might prioritize comfort and relaxation.
Cappuccino drinkers on the other hand tend to be more perfectionists. I wouldn’t want to be a barista giving them a cuppa with bad latte art. But considering they enjoy the combination of espresso, steamed milk, and foam, it reflects their desire for harmony. Seems contradictory, but that’s cappuccino lovers for you.
Ok, what about coffee drinkers who like their coffee nice and cold.
Iced Coffee with Milk
Individuals who prefer iced coffee are often viewed as adaptable and spontaneous. They enjoy the refreshing chill of iced coffee and might have a more flexible approach to life.
But there’s also the nitro brew lovers who are prone to be on the wild side. This is probably the case because a Nitro brew is one of the most complex coffee drinks. It begins with a regular cold brew and then infused with nitrogen and served via tap but also sold in cans. It is by any definition — unique but also very popular for its unique qualities.
The most relaxed of all coffee drinkers were the instant coffee drinkers, but they’re also procrastinators. This is self-explanatory as instant coffee is almost effortless to make, so of course such coffee drinkers are relaxed, as they like it easy. 😃
Whichever coffee type you prefer, keep drinking it. Your choice doesn’t mean you’re a psychopath, people pleaser, perfectionist or wild. These are just broad stereotypes, and individuals are much more complex than their choice of coffee.
Myself, I drink all the above. so based on questionnaires and studies, that would make me a hybrid of all the stereotypes. 🙃

Drizzle chocolate syrup in a cup.
Pour a shot of espresso into the same cup or ½ cup strong coffee.
Pour steamed or hot milk over the coffee.
Add milk froth on top and drizzle more chocolate syrup.
Add crumbled cookies or your favorite toppings.
You can use a milk frother to froth the milk if you don’t have an espresso machine steam valve.
